This booklet contains further reading and minimal summaries to accompany the course “Sustainable Digitalization - A primer”.

The course is focused on an interdisciplinary audience of PhD students with little sustainability science knowledge, with lectures and discussion on the material over two half-day slots.

In terms of knowledge, the goal of the course is:

to introduce enough core sustainability science concepts to make a discussion of sustainable digitalization possible in Chapter 1.
to establish a common understanding of digitalization as a socio-technical process in Chapter 2.
to introduce current research on sustainable digitalization in Chapter 3, including problems of non-alignment of digitalization processes with sustainability goals and potential solutions
